The 2020 XL Series Heavy-Duty Trucks from Hino

Hino is excited to add the XL Series of heavy-duty trucks to their popular and proven stable of medium duty trucks. Production of both the XL7 and XL8 has begun in Hino’s newly renovated, 1 million square foot facility in Mineral Wells, West Virginia, as well as its plant in Woodstock, Ontario Canada.

Power & Hauling

The XL class seven and eight trucks will both be powered by newly developed 8.9-liter A09C six-cylinder diesel engine, providing 300hp to 360hp, as well as maximum torque ranges from 900 lb-ft to 1,150 lb-ft. Transmissions options include an Allison automatic and a manual version by Eaton.

Hino said its XL Series will be offered in a host of straight truck and tractor configurations, ranging from a GVWR of 33,000 to 60,000 lbs. and GCWR up to 66,000 lbs. which allows Hino to cover a much broader range of hauling requirements.

Technology & Safety

Aside from the power and hauling capacities, the XL series offers a wide range of technical and safety features such as collision mitigation system, lane departure warning, and electronic stability control. Once inside the cab, the driver will experience a host of comfort features designed for miles of comfort and safety. Technology like Hands Free Bluetooth calling and audio, Steering Wheel controls, LCD information screen, and Cruise control sets Hino apart.

After years of success in the medium duty truck series, Hino and C&M Motors are excited about the manufacturer’s entry into the heavy-duty truck arena.

The all-new 2019 HinoXL8 has a GVW rating range of up to 60,000 pounds. Power is supplied by Hino’s A09 8.9L inline 6-cylinder diesel engine producing and an awesome 1,150 ft. lbs. of torque and 360hp.

Available wheelbase selections of up to 304 inches and tandem axle, as well as fifth wheel configurations, are designed for a variety of applications.
Power and payload are not the only thing new with this series. The cab has comfort and technology features not found in any other Hino truck. The XL8 Series features air-ride cab and driver’s seat, hands-free Bluetooth audio/calling, steering wheel controls, LED headlights, cruise control, and air conditioning as standard equipment on every XL8.

Production of the XL8 and the XL7 will start in early 2019 and the lineup will be assembled in Mineral Wells, West Virginia, at a fully renovated 1-million-square-foot production facility that Hino acquired in 2017.

C&M Motors is proud to introduce the all new Hino XL7 heavy duty truck. The Hino XL Series brings the company into the Class 8 market in the U.S. for the first time. Hino has had remarkable success in the 4-7 class market and the step to the XL series was the next logical step for the manufacturer. This latest series is the result of more than 500,000 hours of engineering for Hino.

The XL7 is powered by the A09 8.9L inline 6-cylinder diesel engine which produces 360hp and an amazing 1,150 ft. lbs. of torque.

The XL7 is focused on the driver with good styling, ergonomics and amenities. It features a wide entry for easier access and what the company calls an automotive-grade finished interior. The XL Series will also feature air-ride cab and driver’s seat, hands-free Bluetooth audio/calling, steering wheel controls, LED headlights, cruise control, and air conditioning as standard equipment on every 2020 model year XL7.

New safety measures are also an exciting feature for Xl series. Measures that include, electronic stability control, collision mitigation systems, and payload management make the Xl series safe.

Once inside the cab, you will see several styling updates and ergonomic functions that set this series apart from other trucks. It features a wide entry for easier access and what the Hino calls an automotive-grade finished interior. Production of the 4X2 models is expected to kick off early next year, followed by 6×4 XL8 models mid-year.
