Go Hybrid – Get on the Waiting List for the Next Round of HVIP Funding

HVIP ProgramThe Hybrid and Zero-Emission Truck and Bus Voucher Incentive Project (HVIP) is a program created by the California Air Resources Board (ARB) to help speed the early market adoption of clean, low-carbon hybrid and zero-emission trucks and buses. HVIP helps fleet owners by reducing the cost of these vehicles for business that purchase and operate these vehicles in the State of California. The HVIP voucher can help to reduce about half the incremental costs of purchasing hybrid and zero-emission medium-duty trucks making the latest hybrid vehicles affordable and keeping California’s air cleaner. HVIP program not only help fleets purchase vehicles affordably but also promotes the increase of production of these vehicles.

While the 2016 funding is currently exhausted, budget is appropriated for the HVIP program each year in the State of California. 2017 funding has not yet been approved for this project, but CALSTART is working closely with the State of California to provide updates as more information is available. All current voucher requests are being placed on a voucher waiting list.

The Hybrid and Zero-Emission Truck and Bus Voucher Incentive Project (HVIP) offers point-of-sale incentives for clean trucks and buses in California. HVIP dealers offer reduced-price vehicles directly to purchasers. Purchasers do not need to submit proposals, complicated paper work or wait to be reimbursed. Incentives are locked in at the time of the purchase order. Dealers process the required documentation.
