2020 Hino and Tax Incentives

2020 Hino and Tax Incentives

There still is time to receive some amazing tax incentives for 2020. C&M Motors has several 2020 Hino models ready for delivery so you can take advantage of the tax benefits.

When you purchase a truck for business purposes and begin using it, you can apply the benefit of the “Section 179 deduction”. Section 179 of the IRS code was enacted to help small businesses take a depreciation for capital expenditures in one year, rather than depreciating over the useful life of item purchased.

For example, if you purchase a commercial truck to enhance your fleet or to replace trucks that are nearing their end of service life, you can deduct the full cost of the truck in one year. The truck must be purchased and put into service during the year in which you claim the deduction.

There are some annual limits on the amounts that can be deducted per Section 179. For 2020, the cap for total write-off is $1,040,000 and the limit for the total amount purchased is $2.5 million. The deduction decreases after $2.5 million is spent and is not available for total purchases over $3.5 million, thus making this tax incentive truly focused on small and medium businesses.

All businesses that purchase, finance, and lease new and used business equipment during the 2020 tax year potentially quality for Section 179 Deductions. Commercial truck leasing and purchase are among the eligible goods. For most small businesses, the entire cost of a truck purchase could be written-off on the 2020 tax return.

If you have any questions about Section 179 Deductions, our knowledgeable staff at C&M Motors, NationaLease of San Diego is here to help. We have some excellent resources on our website to help you get started. Visit https://www.section179.org/section_179_deduction to get all the details.

Hino Opens New US Manufacturing Facility

Hino Motors Manufacturing U.S.A. Inc. announced the opening of its nearly 1 million square-foot medium and heavy-duty truck manufacturing plant in Mineral Springs, W.Va.

“Hino is committed to building its trucks and products in the market it operates in. We have committed $100 million in capital investment into our new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility, generating 250 new jobs,” Hino Motors Ltd. CEO Yoshio Shimo said in a company release. “Today, I am excited to announce an additional commitment of $40 million in investment to meet increased demand and product configurations, creating an additional 250 new jobs, totaling 800 team members.”

Gov. Jim Justice, who attended the opening along with federal and local elected officials, dealers and customers, said, “Hino has been a tremendous partner to the state of West Virginia since 2007. With 800 West Virginians planned to be employed by Hino, they continue to be one of West Virginia’s biggest employers.”

The new plant will assemble the company’s Class 6-8 conventional trucks, including its newly introduced Class 7 and Class 8 XL Series. The facility can produce 15,000 trucks a year using one shift, providing Hino the capacity it needs to continue to grow in the U.S., according to the Novi, Mich.-based company, a subsidiary of Hino Motors Ltd.

Previously, Hino assembled medium-duty trucks in Williamstown, W.Va., and those operations moved to the new plant on the site of a former distribution center in Mineral Springs. In September, Hino announced it would produce a new line of Classes 7-8 trucks for sale in the U.S.
