The Deliveries Continue
Despite the coronavirus, we all need food and the basic necessities for everyday life. For many we are asked to shelter-in-place to avoid further spread of the outbreak. However, very time we go to the supermarket, we hope to find the shelves stocked with our favorite items or the staples that we really need. Even when we don’t bring home everything we had hoped, we must realize all the sacrifices and challenges others make to bring those supplies to the consumer.
Commitment
While the coronavirus is making life difficult, the truck drivers are committed to transporting freight, food, and other supplies, risking their safety every day. No longer are the diners open to give them a hearty meal while on the road for many hours. Most local delivery trucks cannot navigate the drive-thru, and many are turned away if they try to “walk thru”. After many hours delivering products, this can be very disheartening.
Delivering Products We Count On
Many drivers are getting accustomed to the new norm. For our local San Diego drivers, many are packing their own food and beverages as opposed to navigating the new procedures for take-out. For longer distance truck drivers, getting a shower or getting something to eat can be a real challenge. Regardless, truckers are working very hard to deliver the products we all count on.
